VAT Specialist (100% Remote)

For my client, a renowned multinational organization, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced VAT Compliance Specialist to join their dynamic team remotely. Your Responsibilities:

As a VAT Compliance Specialist, you will:

• Perform a first-line review of allocated VAT reporting for the client and its affiliates across various EU Member States, including the submission of Standard Audit Files (SAF-T VAT) where required.
• Serve as the first point of contact with local tax authorities across Europe to discuss various VAT compliance issues.
• Manage standard and complex external VAT audits for the client and its affiliates in different European countries.
• Coordinate, consolidate, and submit statistical/intrastat returns for the client in Europe.
• Follow-up and report to ITD management on VAT compliance issues, providing strategic advice to ensure VAT compliance and cost avoidance.
• Collaborate closely with accounting teams and various tax functions (Customs & Trade, Transfer Pricing, Corporate Income Tax) to analyze facts, business conditions, and legislation thoroughly.
• Prepare independent responses to urgent questions from various business units and affiliates, identifying VAT issues, proposing countermeasures, and setting action plans.
• Define deliverables and milestones for VAT projects in specific EU countries or for specific companies within the group.
• Attend and deliver training on VAT compliance topics to different stakeholders across Europe.
• Assist in the preparation and roll-out of new procedures, policies, and processes as part of the “Centre of Excellence for the Group in Europe.”

Your Profile:

• Graduate and/or university degree in Economics, Tax, or Law.
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience in VAT.
• Proven strong analytical skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – knowledge of Oracle R12 is an asset.
• Proficiency in English is required; any other European language is an asset.
